was it there for a family of non skiers who would like to play/snowboard? thanks

    • Kim says:

Mathilda- We offer snowboard lessons and the entire resort is accessable to snowboarders as long as you have a lift ticket. We do not offer any inner-tubing or snowplay though.

I’m sure the state of California would be fascinated to learn that you believe you have an unlimited supply of water available to you from Big Bear Lake.
Why must you persist on posting such nonsense. Summit has a highly restricted limit on the amount of water it may draw from the lake once the limit is met no more snow-making.
A more relevant and accurate fact would be that Snow Summit was a pioneer in the development and utilization of snow-making technology. Summit’s recent investments in new equipment have boosted snow making capacity by 50% and reduced diesel fuel consumption by 30%.
This cost effect and green investment allows the resort (given favorable temperature and humidity conditions) to open the season earlier, maintain snow conditions throughout the season, and stay open longer than if they had to rely only on natural snowfall.
