We are opening Chair 9 just in time for the holidays! After some natural snowfall and with our world class snowmaking system we were able to get Sundown and Cruiser OPEN today. Both Sundown and Cruiser are located in our Family Fun Park, a great place to head with the whole family when you’re on the hill. Today is also the first official date of our Holiday Period which means some season pass blackout dates now apply. Don’t forget that even if your season pass is blacked out for the day you can still go night riding. That’s right every season pass we offer for both resorts is good for every night session we offer. Which means you still get to do plenty of skiing and riding this holiday!
3 inches of fresh snow greeted us when we woke up this morning! Today should be a great day on the slopes. At this time all roads leading into Big Bear are open. It will take a little bit of extra time to get here but, today is going to be an EPIC day of skiing and snowboarding. If you are planning on driving in the mountain areas don’t forget to put your tire chains in your car and check our snow report for updated road conditions. Night session is back TONIGHT from 3:00pm- 9:30pm and runs from today December 20th- through January 4th for the holiday season. (We will have regular day session from 12/24 from 8am-5pm but there will be no night session Christmas eve. Night session will resume on Christmas Day. ) All season passes are welcome during every night session , even Bear Mountain only and mid-week passes! Thanks […]
As of 8:00 pm we have received 1-3 inches of new snow. It is still snowing and we hope to wake up to a powder day on Friday. At this time all roads leading into Big Bear are open with chains required on all vehicles except 4WD with snow tires. It will take a little bit of extra time to get here but, tomorrow is going to be an EPIC day of skiing and snowboarding. Thanks to lower temperatures we were able to resume snowmaking last night. We are now making snow in the Family Fun Park off of Chair 9, upper Perfect Pitches and Sugar Pine off of Chair 10 and we have closed upper Timber Ridge today to continue snowmaking.
