Snow Summit and Bear Mountain are the ONLY SoCal resorts open for you to enjoy all the fresh snow! We got 8-11″ yesterday and have been making snow since about 10 pm last night. Our snowmakers are working very hard to get more runs open and features built. We are hoping to have Summit Run and Westridge open VERY SOON. Our base is back up to 10-20″ of machine-groomed packed powder – the best conditions of the year! At Bear Mountain they got Chairs 1 and 9 open today, and plan to have Chair 7 open tomorrow! Bear will also have their ski school open tomorrow. As of 9:30 am, CalTrans reports that chains are still required for Highways 18, 38 and 330. Drive carefully! Along with Bear Mountain, we are the only two Southern California resorts to remain open after the bout of bad weather. Our snowmakers are working on constructing some skill-builder terrain features on Miracle Mile for tomorrow. Bear Mountain only pass holders can still use their passes at Snow Summit through the end of next week. Bear Mountain is scheduled to open for daily operations as planned this Friday, Dec. 12. Good news! The forecast is calling for snow by next weekend! Knock on wood, throw salt over your shoulder, bury half a potato in the backyard…wait, wrong superstition.
