Good morning from Snow Summit!! It’s another beautiful Day in Big Bear and we hope that you’re enjoying the long holiday weekend. Since we’ve been getting so many entries for our “Opening Weekend” photo competition, we have decided to extend it all the way through the entire weekend! Keep tagging your photos #summitopens and we’ll announce the winner next week. Instagram user @thetonybarbieri submitted this awesome photo yesterday of our very own Thanksgiving Turkey. Feel free to swing by Bear Mountain for their Opening Day festivities and another chance to win the Bar Down contest or the Message in a Bottle. The Scenic Sky Chair will be open again today from 10a.m.– 3:30p.m. on Chair 2 at Snow Summit. This is a great way to enjoy the panoramic views at our summit without having to strap on skis. Tickets are $16 for adults and $8 for kids. Stay snowy, friends!!
Opening day went off without a hitch! Hundreds of riders came out to enjoy our solid packed powder base and warm Southern California sunshine. Our Bar-Down raffle and Message in a Bottle contest winners walked away with swag-packed goody bags. The #summitopens photo contest winner will be announced tomorrow. Not quite ready to ski but still want to enjoy a long weekend in Big Bear? Tomorrow we will be opening the Scenic Sky Chair from 10 – 3:30. Enjoy a half hour round-trip ride all the way to the summit and back. Nothing beats the panoramic view of Big Bear Lake as you ride back down Chair 2. Tickets are the same as the Summer Scenic Sky Chair pricing, $16 for adults and $8 for kids. If you aren’t too wiped out from all the turkey and stuffing at Thanksgiving, Bear Mountain’s season opening will be Friday. DJ Slipmatt is coming back […]
Riders are already making their first turns on the mountain and everyone is talking about the 12 terrain features already available to ride. DJ Slipmatt is busy keeping the base crowds entertained with music and contest updates. Speaking of contests, the Message in a Bottle clue is on Twitter and Instagram. First person to find the bottle can bring it to Guest Services for a goody bag. Be sure to tag all your photos from today with #summitopens. We’re keeping an eye on all those pictures. We’ll be updating the fan photo page with your pictures and the top photographer will get featured as the photo of the day and win a prize!
