Easy Drive Up the Mountain

Expect sunny skies today as you make that easy drive up the mountain. If you left the house early, there’s less traffic and you might have caught the sunrise. All roads to Big Bear are open with no restrictions and the surface is freshly machine groomed. Our Performance/Demo Ski and Board Sale starts today at 9 am. This is a great opportunity to upgrade your skis or snowboard for a fraction of the price. The Learning Center will be ready to show you a variety of used snowboards and skis. Prices on skis and snowboards start as low as $99. Bring your March Madness Special and enjoy another day of fun in the sun. More Spring Skiing and Riding Strategy- The Window

Photographers refer to the first and last hour of daylight as the “Golden Hour”.  Spring Skiers and Riders who have been around for a season or two know we have our equivalent- The Window. The Window is that period during the day when things soften up to a near perfect surface but have’t crossed over to late afternoon conditions. Timing is key and The Window may vary from day to day due to sun, temperature, cloud cover- but those who are on it know it’s worth catching. After The Window it’s usually off to the steeps for the rest of the afternoon or down to the deck at the Slopeside Pub to join the crew. Spring Skiing and Riding Strategy

There is a reason Spring skiing and riding holds such a mystique among our guests both young and old. Warm, sunny days and the chance to pull out some vintage ski wear and costumes (we have seen teletubbies, pokemon, cows and kangaroos just to name a few) add an extra air of fun and things take on a very social atmosphere. Afternoons on the deck with a beverage or two become the standard closer to a day of good times.
