It’s going to be a great day at Snow Summit Mountain Resort! We received 8-11″ of natural snow from yesterday’s storm and were able to fire up our snow making system last night! Riders will find a surface of machine groomed, packed powder and/or powder this morning. Though coverage is good, early season conditions do still exist. Please use caution when skiing or riding near trail edges- as always ski and ride with care! Skiers and riders may also find our snowmaking system operational on OPEN trails throughout the day today. Enjoy!
^^^^^ Do you see that? There is snow in our future! Forecasts are calling for up to nine inches on the mountain! Conditions next week should be ripe for more snowmaking. So we’re looking at snow on snow! It will start as rain on Thursday (great for the reservoirs!) before the temperature drops and we get glorious snow. Bear Mountain is now scheduled to open for daily operations on Saturday, Dec. 13, at 8:30 am. Bear will open with Chair 1, but if conditions improve we could get Chair 9 going, as well! Keep thinking snow, it’s working!
Take a break from the week and hit the slopes at Snow Summit. We still have a base of 6-18″ of machine-groomed, hard pack snow and six skill-builder terrain features on Miracle Mile. We’re open from 9 am-4 pm today, and Bear Only pass holders can still come ride at Summit this week! Today should be in the high 50’s, perfect for SoCal skiing and riding. The Summit Inn and Sport Shop are both open today. It’s not too late to pick up a hand-painted tree ornament and there’s always time for a chili bread bowl. Have a great day and think snow!
