Get Ready for the Next Round of Weather - 2:37pm, 2/27/2015

Things are getting are very exciting around here… you can almost smell the storm coming. We are expecting another round of winter weather this weekend where we could get up to a foot of new snow. Nine inches of new snow was the final count from the previous round of weather last weekend and we have been making snow at an enormous rate ever since. It seems as though all your snow dancing is paying off.

Come play in fresh powder this weekend, and as always make sure that you plan ahead. Have chains in your car at all times, dress in layers of clothes to keep you warm and dry while plowing down the slopes, but most importantly, make sure that you give yourself plenty of time to get up here. Oh, and be prepared to tell your boss that you are snowed in so that you can get an extra day on the slopes. That’s a little cough you’re developing, right?

If you purchase your tickets at least 24 hours in advance you can save up to $15:

Peeking Ahead at the Forecast - 10:00am, 2/27/2015

It seems that every time we take a peek at the weather forecast for this coming weekend it keeps looking better and better. Have you seen it? The chance of snow keeps getting greater and the amount of snow that this storm is suppose to dump on Big Bear keeps getting higher and higher. This is looking like the best chance of the season to enjoy some deep powder conditions.

Until the storm comes our surface condition is good to very good with a base depth of 12-24″, but do your snow dance to ensure that our good conditions turn to great conditions. All roads to Big Bear are currently clear and open. Get here before the storm rolls in and oh well if you’re snowed in, you could always use an extra ski day on Monday. Now that’s a cure and a half for any case of the Monday’s you might have.

Jack FM will be broadcasting live from the Slopeside Pub from 1-4 today. Just in time for an afternoon refreshment. There will not be a night session tonight, but you’ll want to join us for an evening of skiing or riding tomorrow on Saturday from 3-9:30. Note that this will be the second to last night session of the season.

It Looks Like Another Bluebird Day Sandwiched Between Storms - 6:27am, 2/26/2015

It looks as if we are in a favorable weather pattern for skiing and riding. We have another storm knocking on our door expected to arrive Friday. It will follow a very similar track to our last storm though it is expected to remain in the area a bit longer. As models look further into the future it appears as though this pattern will continue. Keep those skis and boards ready to go…

Great Week For Mid-Week Riding And Looks Like More Snow Is On The Way - 5:15pm, 2/25/2015

SS BLOG 2-25-15 PM
Sunday afternoon we had a storm roll in that stuck around through Monday night and dropped 9 inches of natural snow. The temperatures also allowed us to make snow through the storm and an additional night as well. End result: a completely resurfaced playground  of machine groomed, packed powder for you to enjoy. Now for the best part. Computer models indicate we have entered a weather pattern and a storm following a very similar  track is slated to pull into town Friday. It is expected to linger through the weekend and into next week. It will also, most likely, allow us to make snow. Longer range looks call for this pattern to continue. Don’t put those skis and snowboards away yet- it looks like the best of the season is yet to come!

Plan ahead by purchasing lift tickets in advance and save money. Pick up your lift tickets through our website or over the phone by calling 909-866-5766 and save up to $15 per ticket.
