The Victor Alvarez race has been cancelled for the year. We will still hold the parade at 10am on March 8th and the Silent Auction throughout the day but we not be running the race as usual. Head to Snow Summit and Bear Mountain today to take advantage of the little to no lift lines and fresh snow that fell over the weekend. When you don’t have to wait in line you can get in even more laps on the snow!
It’s the beginning of March and spring is only a few weeks away but don’t tell Mother Nature that! She thinks it’s the middle of winter and we’re not complaining! The most recent storm system brought us 8-11 inches of snow over the past 48 hours and today will be one of the best days of the season on the slopes.
Today’s conditions are groomed packed powder with snow good coverage. Please use caution near the runs edges. We are open today from 8am-4pm for full day and 12-4pm for half day. Grab your buddies and get some packed powder laps in!
If you’re looking for a little excitement, head over to Bear Mountain and check out the War of Rails finals today. Some of the best skiers in the world are here in Big Bear and battling for cash prizes and bragging rights.

The current storm has brought us some 8-10″ of fresh snow and it’s not showing signs of stopping anytime soon! Drive safe today! It will take you some extra time to get up here but the conditions will be worth it! Don’t forget your tire chains, they are required on all vehicles except those with 4wd and awd with snow tires on highways 18 and 38. Highway 330/18 the front way is closed but plans to reopen soon. Check CalTrans for the latest road information.
Today’s hours are 8am-6pm for day session, 12pm-6pm for half day. Night session is scheduled for this evening from 3-9:30pm but is still dependent on the weather. Today snow coverage is very good on the open runs but please use caution near the runs edges.
Head on over to Bear Mountain today to check out War of Rails, the professional skiing competitions and one of the largest events held at Bear will take over The Scene. Olympic competitors will be in attendance so grab a drink and watch all the action from the Beach Bar.
