Snow Summit- Go No Further - 1:06pm, 1/25/2015

SS BLOG 1-24-15pm

If you want to ski and ride the best California has to offer this season you won’t need to travel hours and burn through tanks of gas. You’ll find the best snow and the best variety of terrain right in your own back yard. Why are things so swell on our mountain during what looks like a pretty barren season for others? Because we MAKE snow whenever we can. That’s it. We make snow. We are good at it. That is why you can count on our resort when others are on the verge of closing.

The weekends are always great, but if you can sneak away during the week for some skiing and riding, mid week is when you’ll find wide, open runs waiting for you. While you’re making laps try out the latest shapes and technology in skis and snowboards from our Performance Demo Center. With ski in/ski out convenience it is easy to be a test pilot.

You love to ski- what about that friend who has never given it a shot? Get them moving and bring them up before the end of the month to give them a new passion in life and save them some cash. January is “Learn to Ski and Ride Month”. Purchase any adult or young adult 1st time beginner-only Learn to Ski or Board Package and your rental equipment is included for free. Riglet and all children’s programs receive a $15 discount off their regular package price. Packages must be purchased in advance by calling (909) 866-5766.

Plan ahead for this weekend by purchasing your tickets in advance to ensure your spot on the slopes.

Only The Best For Your Family - 9:10am, 1/24/2015

Best Conditions 1

You want the best for the family. Best health care, best schools, best this and best that, it’s what providing for the family is all about. Your family time this weekend can be spent with the best snow in California. We’ve received compliments from professionals that have visited resorts all over the world and we get complements that say we are “Killing it.”

We have been able to make snow for 4 nights in a row. At the rate of filling a backyard swimming pool full of snow in 5 minutes, imagine how much snow we’ve pumped out in 4 consecutive nights. When your family arrives, expect fresh machine groomed, packed powder surface with 25 jibs and 33 snow features and a base depth of 8 – 24″. We are expecting clear skies and mild temperatures making the conditions perfect for skiing and riding.

Today at the resort you will find some racing taking place as the South Series Giant Slalom makes it’s stop on the slopes of Snow Summit. We have a night session tonight stretching our day out through 9:30 pm and those tunes you hear throughout the day are being . Have fun!

The Best Conditions in Southern California - 6:45pm, 1/23/2015

SS 1-22 1-23 BLOGS-2 (1)Get it while the getting is good. It’s beyond good here when it comes to snow. We don’t have the third best snow, we’re not second either. We have the best snow compared to resorts in Northern and Southern California. If it wasn’t true and backed up by hard data, we couldn’t say it. When we say hard data, this is what we mean; one SoCal resort is reporting 13 open trails and the other one has 13 trails open. You would have to pay for two lift tickets to hit 26 trails. On the other hand, one of our day session lift tickets gets you access to 39 open trails, that’s more than the other two combined. Talk about a value packed lift ticket.

SoCal Resort X’s lift ticket =                           13 trails
SoCal Resort Y’s lift ticket =                      +   13 trails
Total between resorts X and Y =                   26 trails

Our lift ticket =                                            39 trails

39 > 26

Our lift ticket value > Other SoCal resort lift ticket value

How do we keep making snow? First ingredient is water and we have a huge water storage area called Big Bear Lake, something the other places with less snow and lower number for open trails could really use. If you’re gonna pay for a lift pass while investing your time and gas to get to a resort, you should get the most bang or in this case, snow, for your buck. All that time, driving, and money for lift tickets will go to waste if there isn’t much snow, but that is not a worry when you come here for the best snow in California. Our money-saving deals make the value of our lift tickets even better. Just buy your day session lift ticket at least 48 hours in advance and save up to $13 (restrictions apply). So this weekend, the choice is already made for you, come here and get it while the getting is good.

The weekend schedule gives you extra sliding time with the first chair starting at 8:00am and rentals and tickets opening at 7:30 am.

There will be night sessions tonight and tomorrow night running from 3:00pm until 9:30 pm. Weekends are a great time to get as much time on the slopes as possible.
