Snowmaking - 1:25pm, 11/22/2013
Good Morning. - 1:22pm, 11/22/2013
Last night we received a light dusting, but it is currently cold with flurry’s falling faintly and a forecast packed with snow.
Weathermen are calling for natural snow all weekend, and snowmaking conditions are looking better and better!
Chains ARE required on highway 38 to and from Big Bear. Always carry chains and drive safe.
Snow! - 4:05pm, 11/21/2013
Confidence Boost! - 11:47am, 11/21/2013
From where i am standing it looks as if winter weather is rolling in! The pressure system weathermen have been talking about for a few days looks as if its only hours away if we are lucky.
We will keep you up to date on cold weather and snowmaking conditions as we get info!
Waiting on Colder Weather - 8:40am, 11/19/2013
We’ve got our snowmaking technicians on call and snow guns ready, now we just need a little cold weather so we can get going! All we need is 2-3 days of round-the-clock snowmaking and we can get enough coverage to open up for skiing and snowboarding for the 2013-14 winter season.
The nights may be chilly and leave frost on cars but the days are still a little to warm to make snow. At this point if we were to fire up those snow guns most of our hard work would melt throughout the day, but don’t worry winter is just around the corner. We still remain hopeful to be open for Thanksgiving.
