We’re not even close to the end of our mountain biking season as we intend to stay open Fridays through Sundays until the snowy weather comes, but this week does mark the end of midweek riding here at our resort!
Way to go out with a bang! All the weather we received over this past weekend has our trails in prime condition with Hero Dirt and Brow Pow galore! Some riders were lucky enough to hit the trails during this past weekend for some amazing mud runs as the torrential downpour made for absolutely epic shredding conditions! Were you lucky enough to be among them? If not, don’t worry… there is still plenty of tacky dirt just waiting for your tire tread!
Join us this week for your last chance to ditch work and avoid the weekend crowds with some prime midweek riding! During our changing schedule throughout the fall be sure to keep up with our Activities Report for all the changing hours of operations.
At Big Bear Mountain Resorts we always get excited when September rolls around. A lot of activities are going on as we start to make the transition from summer into fall. The days are warm, the nights are cool, the air is brisk and the leaves on the tree’s start to put on a show.
Our Scenic Sky Chair is running daily until September 14th, and at that time the Sky Chair will be operating Fri-Sun only until the winter weather comes. Taking hikers and mountain bikers alike to the top of the Snow Summit, our Scenic Sky Chair allows hikers to enjoy a nice walk along the skyline or make their way down the face of the mountain on the famous Log Chute Hiking Trail. As many of your know Snow Summit has partnered with the Big Bear Discovery Center to offer Guided Eco-Tours. These tours are led by a Southern California Mountains Foundation Naturalist and provide a great learning experience about the flora and fauna of Beautiful Big Bear.
Bikers have lots of options as well, the down-hill mountain bikers have some cool challenging trails to choose from. While the cross-country bikers can access the long, smooth forest service roads which will be sure to provide lots of adventures for everyone.
You still have time for tee at The Bear Mountain Golf Course! This 9 hole golf course offers a driving range, our delicious golf course grill and pro-shop with golf cart and club rentals available. As we make our way into the latter part of September, early morning tee times may get pushed back depending on frost
