Forecasters are sticking to their guns as of this morning and still calling for a major winter storm to roll through the region with the kind of cooler, drier air behind it that we love to make snow in! Things may get pretty stormy for a while. The National Weather Service predicts wind gusts could hit 50 mph as a front moves through. Behind it- natural snow and great snowmaking conditions! Stay tuned for updates! Skiers and riders at Snow Summit Mountain Resort this morning will find a surface of machine groomed, hard pack which will soften as the day goes on. Chair 1 will be opening at 9 am delivering guests to our summit with top-to-bottom skiing and riding via Miracle Mile and Chair 8 will service our beginner area at 9 am. Lifts close this afternoon at 4 pm. Have a great day!
Grab your gear and head to the Resort; We are open today…no really we are. We have new snowmaking with a depth of 6-18″, machine groomed hard pack that will soften as the day goes on. At this time no features are available. Early season condition exists use caution around the edges.
Good morning! This has been a great start to our opening week at Snow Summit and Bear Mountain. We are looking forward to continuing the opening festivities through the weekend. Opening day provided fun contests at both resorts where a lot of prizes were given away, and we’re still ready to give out more! We have received so many fan photo‘s that we have extended our photo contest; be sure to tag your photos using #summitopens or #bearopens. Snow Summit and Bear Mountain are open today and tomorrow from 8:30 to 4:00 with the Inner Mountain Shuttle operating starting at 9 a.m. the last shuttle leaves Snow Summit at 4:30 and Bear Mountain at 4:45.
