Can you sneak to the slopes today? Looks like we have a great day of skiing and riding on our hands today before a weather system moves in for the middle of the week. We’re hoping the forecasts calling for snow pan out but either way it looks like we’ll be collecting some water back into Big Bear Lake! With the lake water level over 12 feet below normal, any precipitation in the valley is very welcome! Skiers and riders will find a groomed surface of hard pack snow which will soften up pretty quickly as the day warms up! Lifts open at 9 am this morning with Chair 1 providing access to the summit and top-to-bottom skiing and riding via Miracle Mile as well as Chair 8 servicing our Bear Bottom Beginner Area! See you on the slopes!
Happy Thanksgiving from all of us in the Big Bear Mountain Resorts family! We wish you a great day and hope it includes at least a few traditional laps at Snow Summit today! Skiing and riding resumes this morning by way of Chair 1 servicing the summit with top-to-bottom skiing and riding via Miracle Mile. Chair 8 will service the Bear Beginner Area. Skiers and riders will find machine groomed, hard packed conditions as we open which will soften as the day goes on. For added fun we will also be operating Chair 2 as a Scenic Sky Chair from 10 am to 3:30 pm. Purchase tickets at the Ticket Windows and follow the stairs up past the Bear Bottom Lodge, past the delicious smelling, sunny BBQ up to Chair 2. The ride is a 15-20 minute ride from bottom to top and back again. There is no off-loading at the top. Stop […]
Prizes and music and snow, oh my! Due to our superior snowmaking system and access to Big Bear Lake, we are able to provide top-to-bottom quality terrain – better than what any other Southern California resort can offer. The ticket windows open at 8:00 and the lifts start at 8:30. Chair 1 will be servicing the Miracle Mile, while Chair 8 will get the beginner’s area. Be sure to get in line early: the first round of Chair 1 riders will get the chance to win the “bar down” prize. In an effort to promote safety, one chairlift will have four raffle tickets taped to the safety bar. Riders can remove the raffle tickets and turn them into to Guest Services to redeem a goody bag full of prizes. For another chance to win, you can also compete in our first “Message in a Bottle” competition of the season. We’re going to hide a message in a bottle […]
