Riders are already making their first turns on the mountain and everyone is talking about the 12 terrain features already available to ride. DJ Slipmatt is busy keeping the base crowds entertained with music and contest updates. Speaking of contests, the Message in a Bottle clue is on Twitter and Instagram. First person to find the bottle can bring it to Guest Services for a goody bag. Be sure to tag all your photos from today with #summitopens. We’re keeping an eye on all those pictures. We’ll be updating the fan photo page with your pictures and the top photographer will get featured as the photo of the day and win a prize! Prizes and music and snow, oh my! Due to our superior snowmaking system and access to Big Bear Lake, we are able to provide top-to-bottom quality terrain – better than what any other Southern California resort can offer. The ticket windows open at 8:00 and the lifts start at 8:30. Chair 1 will be servicing the Miracle Mile, while Chair 8 will get the beginner’s area. Be sure to get in line early: the first round of Chair 1 riders will get the chance to win the “bar down” prize. In an effort to promote safety, one chairlift will have four raffle tickets taped to the safety bar. Riders can remove the raffle tickets and turn them into to Guest Services to redeem a goody bag full of prizes. Snow Summit is kicking off the Thanksgiving holiday with our season opening tomorrow. Come on Wednesday to enjoy all the opening festivities, like raffles, prizes and games. Big Bear’s own DJ Slipmatt will be on hand for live music. Skiers and snowboarders can ride Chair 1 and check out the terrain features we’ve been preparing just for you. We expect to have approximately 12 terrain features groomed, including beginner terrain. Beginners and seasoned riders alike can sign up for lessons when you arrive. We have plenty of school seats available!
