Got snow, ski or snowboard as early as this Wednesday

  Thanksgiving is coming and here in Southern California it looks like warmer temperatures with windy conditions are ahead of us. The warm winds were actually really cold before it travels down the mountain. The cold winds combined with the dry humidity makes for excellent conditions when it comes to making real snow. Just in case your kids ask you how snow is made, we have a video from the Travel Channel that explains the process. While you’re hot in the lower elevations, we’re enjoying cool snow making weather at Snow Summit. We’ve been blowing real snow on and off since November 16th, as we gear up for opening day on Wednesday, November 26th. Our sister resort, Bear Mountain will open on Friday, November 28th. Happy Thanksgiving

We want to deliver the best skiing and snowboarding  experience you can get in SoCal which is why Snow Summit is not yet open. We are very close but at this time we do not have an opening as it just depends on weather and snowmaking conditions.  We have been making snow at every opportunity and still need 1-2 more days of snowmaking before we will be able to open. Once the weather cools off we will continue making snow when weather permits. But on the bright side… Bear Mountain now open! Chair 9 is now open top to bottom with 27 terrain features (23 jibs and 4 snow features). Chair 9 accesses trails: Upper Park Run, Expressway, The Gulch, and Lower Park Run. Opening Day at Bear Mountain!

Today is opening day at Bear Mountain! Chair 9 will be open top to bottom with 4 snow features and 23 jibs. The trails will include Upper Park Run, Expressway, The Gulch, and Lower Park Run. Be aware that the runs off Chair 9 provide intermediate to advanced terrain and features. There will be NO beginner trails or lifts available on opening day as Chair 9 will be the only chair open. Early Season rates are in effect and ticket sales will be limited due to limited terrain. For more information on opening day festivities visit Bear Mountain’s Website. Ticket windows open at 8am and first chair is 8:30am. We still do not have an opening date for Snow Summit.
