While last night’s storm didn’t leave much more than an inch of snow at the mountain top, today’s snowmaking should. Snowmaking conditions are favorable this morning and snowmaking began today at 5:00 am. Snowmaking will continue as weather and conditions permit. There is a chance of snow in today’s forecast continuing into tonight. Think Snow! All 3 roads into Big Bear are open with chains required on Hwy 330/18 the front way and Hwy 38 thru Redlands.
While today’s snowfall was a mixure of both rain and snow, tonight’s low tempuratures should increase the chance of measurable snowfall for a fresh blanket of white on Miracle Mile tomorrow so Think Snow, and lots of it! All 3 roads into Big Bear are open, there are reports that chains are required on Hwy 330/18 the front way however there are currently no chain requirements on Hwy 38 or Hwy 18 thru Lucerne. All vehicles must always carry chains when traveling to the mountains during winter months. Check back tomorrow morning for further updates and hopefully we’ll have some snowfall totals to report.
