NBC’s Olympic Coverage dug into the history of snowboarding and found themselves in Big Bear. Always the pioneers of the industry; we were one, if not the first, resort in the nation to welcome snowboarders onto the slopes. In the first years snowboarders were only allowed to ride midweek. In 1997, we hosted the first winter X games from (January 30 – February 2, 1997) with 38,000 people in attendance.
