The snowmaking hasn’t slowed down!

Sunday is rounding out an excellent weekend here at Snow Summit. The 8-11″ of natural snow have given us the jumping off point we needed to start making snow all over the mountain. Skiers and riders today are no doubt noticing the snow machines going nonstop on both sides of the resort. The fresh snow is going right on top of our 10-20″ base of machine-groomed, hard packed powder and should be setting us up to open more runs this week! Bear Mountain has taken advantage of the great conditions. Not only are they officially open for daily operations, but their ski and snowboard school is open, they’ve opened yet another run and have 21 “Bear Built” features today. We are open and in full swing

Happy Thanksgiving from Snow Summit! We are having a great turkey day. The warm weather should soften our base of machine-groomed, hard-packed snow. Don’t let yourself fall into a turkey coma; come by for a quick run down Miracle Mile! Check out this video from opening day yesterday:     Our Scenic Sky Chair opens today on Chair 2 from 10am – 3:30pm (and will run with those same hours through the weekend). The round-trip ride gives you the best view of Big Bear Lake as you ride to the summit and back. If you can’t make it today, don’t worry: Bear Mountain’s season opening party is tomorrow! Ski For Free?

 Midweek riding is the BEST. There are no lines standing between you and unlimited laps on the snow. Better yet… you can ski for the rest of the season for FREE. When you purchase a season pass for next winter you can ride the rest of this season for free. For more information on our biggest season pass sale in 20 years and how you can get a free lift ticket for a friend click HERE. At this time we have not set a closing date for the 2013-2014 winter season. Our last day depends on weather and conditions and currently we have generally good coverage on the open runs and a 8-10″ snowbase. As soon as we have a closing date we will post it here!
