Santa Had Some Time To Visit

Only four days left until Christmas. Lots of families have the entire week off. Come play. Santa paid us a visit before he gets real busy. When Saint Nick is done delivering presents, that’s when our holiday schedule begins. During the Holiday period we will have extended hours while the day gets shorter with the winter solstice. Your shadow at noon will be the longest of the year. The sun appears in the sky much lower than any other day of the year, which means your shadow will be longer. Today we’ve launched our Season Long Fan Photo contest! Submit your #SlopeSideSelfies for a chance to win some swag every Sunday! | In the spirit of Christmas, & to kick off the first day of winter, we’ve selected our top 14 selfies so far in the 2014/15 winter season and guess what? They all win prizes! | Congrats: @rapheal21 | @lin3ixoxo | @heidadyda […]

All Lit Up For Night Session

It’s Friday night, also our first night session. This is exciting news, because we normally shut down the chair lifts at 4 pm, but not today. Today, our lifts are operating until 9:30 pm. We’ll do the same tomorrow and night sessions are scheduled for December 25, 2014 all the way through Jan 3, 2015. We’ve also expanded our hours of operation. That means more time to play for the whole family. If you take a family photo or any photo here, try using our hashtag #SnowSummit when you post your pictures. Saturday is looking great with nice weather, open roads with no restrictions, and more chairs opening. Our Beginner Area got bigger, serviced by Chair 4. Chairs 7, 9, and Magic Carpet 1 are now open to give you access to Ego Trip, Cruiser, Skyline, Sundown, Upper Log Chute, and Timber. That should keep the whole family busy all day and into […]

The snowmaking hasn’t slowed down!

Sunday is rounding out an excellent weekend here at Snow Summit. The 8-11″ of natural snow have given us the jumping off point we needed to start making snow all over the mountain. Skiers and riders today are no doubt noticing the snow machines going nonstop on both sides of the resort. The fresh snow is going right on top of our 10-20″ base of machine-groomed, hard packed powder and should be setting us up to open more runs this week! Bear Mountain has taken advantage of the great conditions. Not only are they officially open for daily operations, but their ski and snowboard school is open, they’ve opened yet another run and have 21 “Bear Built” features today. There’s even more good news on the horizon: more snow is expected next week! If you’re in the mood for a white Christmas, Snow Summit is the place to be. Tomorrow […]
