The Storm Has Arrived

Mother Nature adheres to her own schedule. Luckily our snowmakers stick to theirs. We turned the snowmaking system on at about 2 pm yesterday and it ran through this morning. We will fire it up again tonight to supplement the natural snowfall. That is how we will make sure you’ll find the best conditions for skiing and riding in Southern California at our resorts. There is a saying about not liking Mondays, but from the way tomorrow is shaping up- what’s not to like? Mid-week powder days are the topic of conversation when looking back at a season and this one’s sure to come up later. Forecasters are sticking to their earlier predictions and talking about total accumulations of 10-12 inches by the time things wrap up. Sounds like Monday might be taking the title of Funday this week… Don’t forget you can save money on lift tickets when you […]

Great Week For Mid-Week Riding And Looks Like More Snow Is On The Way

The temperatures also allowed us to make snow through the storm and an additional night as well. End result: a completely resurfaced playground  of machine groomed, packed powder for you to enjoy. Now for the best part. Computer models indicate we have entered a weather pattern and a storm following a very similar  track is slated to pull into town Friday. It is expected to linger through the weekend and into next week. It will also, most likely, allow us to make snow. Longer range looks call for this pattern to continue. Don’t put those skis and snowboards away yet- it looks like the best of the season is yet to come! Plan ahead by purchasing lift tickets in advance and save money. Pick up your lift tickets through […]

4” Of New Snow and More on the Way

Our operations crew just came in with the official snowfall analysis and the accumulation is up to 4 inches now. The National Weather Service is predicting additional snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches overnight. That is excellent news because our water collection facility we call Big Bear Lake can hold this water until we can make snow again. If you’re asking, will the snowmaking ever stop? Not if we can help it. If you had some obligations to tend to, like a baby shower or a birthday party and you missed out on your Saturday in the mountains, there is hope. Our night session this evening will start at 3 pm until 9:30 pm. All roads to Big Bear are open with no restrictions so it’ll be an easy drive up to the mountains. Weather can change quickly so please carry tire chains in your vehicle. You can […]
