The Storm Has Arrived

Mother Nature adheres to her own schedule. Luckily our snowmakers stick to theirs. We turned the snowmaking system on at about 2 pm yesterday and it ran through this morning. We will fire it up again tonight to supplement the natural snowfall. That is how we will make sure you’ll find the best conditions for skiing and riding in Southern California at our resorts. There is a saying about not liking Mondays, but from the way tomorrow is shaping up- what’s not to like? Mid-week powder days are the topic of conversation when looking back at a season and this one’s sure to come up later. Forecasters are sticking to their earlier predictions and talking about total accumulations of 10-12 inches by the time things wrap up. Sounds like Monday might be taking the title of Funday this week… Don’t forget you can save money on lift tickets when you […]

Better Late Than Never…

Good Morning! We expected our storm to pull in overnight, but it looks as if things are really just getting going this morning. We did receive about an inch of snow as of 5 am and the National Weather Service has continued the current Winter Storm Warning calling for a 100% chance of snow today. Predictions are calling for snowfall totals in the area of 12 inches with locally heavier amounts. Snow should continue through the night and tomorrow with lingering snow showers through Tuesday morning. So… Our storm had a schedule of its own, so did our snow makers- and they stuck to theirs. We made snow all night last night and we will continue into this morning with snowmaking taking place on a trail or two throughout the entire day. Our snow makers, groomers and Park Staff have been getting ready for this storm and will continue to […]

Here It Comes…Are You Ready For Tomorrow?

In a few minutes we will officially enter the Winter Storm Warning issued by the National Weather Service. The Warning takes effect today at 4 pm and is scheduled to stay active through 4 pm on Monday. Total snowfall predictions are varied, but it looks as though we will get at least 3-5 inches of natural snow with some estimates claiming we could see local accumulations between 1 and 2 feet! Tomorrow could be the powder day of the season. Where will you be? At 8 am the place to be is going to be on the first Chairlift. There are no such things as friends on powder days- it’s first come, first served. You can catch up over a hot chocolate once you have had a chance to track things up a bit. Save time and get the most out of your morning by setting a few things up […]
