Get Ready for the Next Round of Weather

Things are getting are very exciting around here… you can almost smell the storm coming. We are expecting another round of winter weather this weekend where we could get up to a foot of new snow. Nine inches of new snow was the final count from the previous round of weather last weekend and we have been making snow at an enormous rate ever since. It seems as though all your snow dancing is paying off. Come play in fresh powder this weekend, and as always make sure that you plan ahead. Have chains in your car at all times, dress in layers of clothes to keep you warm and dry while plowing down the slopes, but most importantly, make sure that you give yourself plenty of time to get up here. 4” Of New Snow and More on the Way

  Our operations crew just came in with the official snowfall analysis and the accumulation is up to 4 inches now. The National Weather Service is predicting additional snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches overnight. That is excellent news because our water collection facility we call Big Bear Lake can hold this water until we can make snow again. If you’re asking, will the snowmaking ever stop? Not if we can help it. If you had some obligations to tend to, like a baby shower or a birthday party and you missed out on your Saturday in the mountains, there is hope. Our night session this evening will start at 3 pm until 9:30 pm. All roads to Big Bear are open with no restrictions so it’ll be an easy drive up to the mountains. Summit Vitals

The X Games excitement is still in the air, the dust hasn’t even settled and another competition (we’re not talking about football) is on the way this weekend. Volcom’s Peanut Butter and Rail Jam (PBRJ) Tour will be at our sister resort Bear Mountain on Saturday the 31st. That same excitement and enthusiasm rolls right into PBRJ so if you’re itching to hit some jibs, hips, or get launched off a kicker, we’ve got you covered on Westridge.
