It’s snowing in Big Bear today and the weather forecast is calling for several inches of fresh powder. Today’s storm is setting us up for a super fun week. This snowy cold front is forecast to move out by this evening leaving us with great conditions and clear blue skies. As you know, Snow Summit has had good skiing this season with a deep snow base, all lifts available and nearly every run open. The natural snow will freshen the surface and make fore great skiing and snowboarding.
Today’s partly sunny skies will make for a fun day on the slopes. The snow coverage is very good and the base depth is 1 to 2 feet. We have 5 lifts available accessing Miracle Mile top-to-bottom, Upper Summit run, Upper Westridge , ZZYZX, Ego Trip, and Bear Bottom beginner area. There is a chance of snowfall tonight into tomorrow then several inches of fresh snow is forecast for Sunday night. Enjoy your weekend on the snow.
Snow Summit is closed for the 2010/11 ski and snowboard season. Thank you all for making this winter super fun! La Nina had nothin’ on us; it was a good long winter with well above average snowfall and now it’s on to summer. Come up and experience our summer activities including hiking, biking, sightseeing and golf and be sure to have lunch at the View Haus BBQ high atop Big Bear at 8,200 feet.
