The Storm Has Arrived

Mother Nature adheres to her own schedule. Luckily our snowmakers stick to theirs. We turned the snowmaking system on at about 2 pm yesterday and it ran through this morning. We will fire it up again tonight to supplement the natural snowfall. That is how we will make sure you’ll find the best conditions for skiing and riding in Southern California at our resorts. There is a saying about not liking Mondays, but from the way tomorrow is shaping up- what’s not to like? Mid-week powder days are the topic of conversation when looking back at a season and this one’s sure to come up later. Forecasters are sticking to their earlier predictions and talking about total accumulations of 10-12 inches by the time things wrap up. Peeking Ahead at the Forecast

It seems that every time we take a peek at the weather forecast for this coming weekend it keeps looking better and better. Have you seen it? The chance of snow keeps getting greater and the amount of snow that this storm is suppose to dump on Big Bear keeps getting higher and higher. This is looking like the best chance of the season to enjoy some deep powder conditions. Until the storm comes our surface condition is good to very good with a base depth of 12-24″, but do your snow dance to ensure that our good conditions turn to great conditions. It looks as if we are in a favorable weather pattern for skiing and riding. We have another storm knocking on our door expected to arrive Friday. It will follow a very similar track to our last storm though it is expected to remain in the area a bit longer. As models look further into the future it appears as though this pattern will continue.
