As of 8:00 pm we have received 1-3 inches of new snow. It is still snowing and we hope to wake up to a powder day on Friday. At this time all roads leading into Big Bear are open with chains required on all vehicles except 4WD with snow tires. It will take a little bit of extra time to get here but, tomorrow is going to be an EPIC day of skiing and snowboarding. Thanks to lower temperatures we were able to resume snowmaking last night. We are now making snow in the Family Fun Park off of Chair 9, upper Perfect Pitches and Sugar Pine off of Chair 10 and we have closed upper Timber Ridge today to continue snowmaking.
Mid-week skiing is the best at Snow Summit. Come take advantage of the wide open runs and shorter lift lines this week at a discounted price. Today’s snow surface is machine groomed hard pack in the morning that will soften later in the day, and the coverage is very good. Over 1/2 the available runs are now open including Timber Ridge top-to-bottom and Westridge with 30+ park features. Park Crew hit the hill last night and added some jibs on lower Westridge, be sure to check out the new features.
