It’s a big week for Snow Summit! Not only are we expecting *another* snow storm, but we’re also opening Westridge / Zzxyz tomorrow with terrain features. Chair 3 will also start spinning on Tuesday. We currently have a surface of machine groomed packed powder and if this storms rolls in overnight, it will all be topped with some fresh powder too. When we open at 9 am tomorrow, we will have top-to-bottom service on Miracle Mile and Summit Run plus Westridge / Zzxyz – all served by Chairs 1, 2, 3 and 8, as well as Magic Carpet 3 on the Beginner’s Area. Ticket windows, rental shops and the Sports Shop all open at 8:30 am. And you can stop by the Summit Inn for a pre-run breakfast and coffee. Early season pricing is as follows: Discounted Early Season Rates Day Half-Day Adult (22+) $54 $47 Young Adults (13-21) $47 $40 […]
Is it…could it be…more snow this week?? We could get 1-3” just tonight! That’s perfect for us, because we plan to open Westridge and Zzyzx tomorrow along with Chair 3. We’re prepping features, grooming and making the snow perfect for the first Westridge riders of the season. Have your chains ready – we don’t want anyone to miss out on the fresh snow and new runs. Snowmaking has expanded to Sundown Cruiser, the Log Chute and Ego Trip. This means more beginner and advanced terrain is coming. Enough for every skill level in your group! We’re open until 4pm today, so come on by during your lunch break for an afternoon hot cocoa at the Summit Inn or an after work drink at the Slopeside.
^^^^^ Do you see that? There is snow in our future! Forecasts are calling for up to nine inches on the mountain! Conditions next week should be ripe for more snowmaking. So we’re looking at snow on snow! It will start as rain on Thursday (great for the reservoirs!) before the temperature drops and we get glorious snow. Bear Mountain is now scheduled to open for daily operations on Saturday, Dec. 13, at 8:30 am. Bear will open with Chair 1, but if conditions improve we could get Chair 9 going, as well! Keep thinking snow, it’s working!
