Due to the rain, we are still closed today but we are planning to open again this weekend. When we do reopen, we will be operating Lifts 1 and 8, servicing the Beginner Area and Miracle Mile. We will be at Ski Dazzle at the LA Convention Center this weekend (Dec. 4-7) giving mini-ski lessons and showing off highlights from Bear Mountain’s Riglet Park. You can also buy and pick up your discounted season pass on site! Guests who buy their passes at Ski Dazzle get a $30 discount and special buddy pass: bring a friend for free any time before Dec 19 or after March 16. Bear Mountain is scheduled to open as normal on Saturday, Dec. 6 at 8:30 am and Sunday, Dec. 7. Bear Mountain only pass holders can use their passes at either resort through Dec. 12, when Bear will open full time.

As of 8:00 pm we have received 1-3 inches of new snow. It is still snowing and we hope to wake up to a powder day on Friday. At this time all roads leading into Big Bear are open with chains required on all vehicles except 4WD with snow tires. It will take a little bit of extra time to get here but, tomorrow is going to be an EPIC day of skiing and snowboarding. Thanks to lower temperatures we were able to resume snowmaking last night. We are now making snow in the Family Fun Park off of Chair 9, upper Perfect Pitches and Sugar Pine off of Chair 10 and we have closed upper Timber Ridge today to continue snowmaking.
