Nestled in the heart of the San Bernardino National Forest, Big Bear is a short, scenic drive from most locations in Southern California, or a quick flight and/or day’s drive from points beyond.

When traveling to Big Bear please choose your route according to weather and traffic conditions*.

Route 1: HWY 330 / HWY 18 – RUNNING SPRINGS

The shortest, and usually quickest, way for visitors coming from Los Angeles, Orange County, and other points west, this route can become very congested on weekends and holidays.

Route 2: HWY 38 REDLANDS

A bit longer, but typically less congested than Route 1, this is also the most scenic way to/from Big Bear.

Route 3: HWY 18 – LUCERNE VALLEY

The quickest way to/from Barstow, Las Vegas, and other high desert locations, this route has the least amount of mountain driving and less traffic during weekends and holidays.
